Jefferson was drafted 15th overall by the Boston Celtics in the 2004 NBA draft. He spent his first three seasons in Boston before being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the summer of 2007. After his stint with the Timberwolves, Jefferson played for several teams, including the Utah Jazz, Charlotte Bobcats (now the Charlotte Hornets), and Indiana Pacers. He also played overseas in China for one season before retiring from professional basketball in 2018.
Throughout his career, Jefferson was known for his polished offensive game and his ability to score from the low post. He was a two-time NBA All-Star, in 2010 and 2014, and was named to the All-NBA Third Team in 2014. He finished his NBA career with averages of 15.7 points and 8.4 rebounds per game, shooting 49.4% from the field.
