Ansu Martin Sesay Jr. was a small forward drafted 30th overall by the Dallas Mavericks in 1998. An injury setback delayed his debut until 2002, and he ended up playing four seasons for the Mavericks and the Seattle SuperSonics (now the Oklahoma City Thunder). Sesay averaged 3.2 points and 1.8 rebounds per game over his career.
An interesting fact about Sesay is that he overcame a major knee injury early in his career. Drafted based on his athleticism at Ole Miss, a torn ACL during training camp after the lockout stole some of his explosiveness. Despite that, he clawed his way back into the league and carved out a niche as a hustle player for a few seasons.
Currently, Ansu Sesay is the Director of Player Development for the Texas Southern University Tigers men's basketball team.
